Extermination camps were built by Nazi Germany during World War II to systematically kill millions of primarily Jewish victims. Non-Jews were also killed in these camps, including many gentile Poles and Soviet prisoners of war. This genocide of the Jewish people was the Third Reich's "Final solution to the Jewish question". The Nazi attempts at Jewish genocide are collectively known as The Holocaust.
